Graduate and Professional Students
All students receiving graduate and professional degrees (master's, educational specialists, and doctoral degrees) should meet in the Cox Pavilion Arena and line up behind the Graduate College banner. Graduates of the William S. Boyd School of Law should line up behind the law school banner. Dental students should line up behind the dental school banner.

Caps, Gowns, and Tassels
Each graduate must wear a cap and gown. Those receiving master's and educational specialist's degrees will wear their hoods. Doctoral and Juris Doctorate candidates will carry their hoods over their left arms. Each graduate, except Doctoral and Juris Doctorate candidates, must wear the scarlet and gray tassel sold at the UNLV Bookstore. Even if the cap and gown is borrowed or purchased elsewhere, the scarlet and gray tassels must be purchased at the bookstore. Doctoral and Juris Doctorate candidates wear the gold tassel. Tassels are worn on the right; upon direction from the podium, the tassel is moved to the left.

Name Cards
Name cards will be given to each graduate at the time of tassel purchase. Graduates must bring this card to commencement to hand to the name reader on stage. If the card is lost, students may obtain a replacement at the assembly area on the day of commencement.

Before Graduation
All graduates must provide notification that they plan to attend commencement. A form will be given to every student at the time of tassel purchase; this form should be completed and left at the bookstore. Any prospective graduate who fails to complete a form at the bookstore should contact the Graduation Office at 702-895-3685 or 702-895-1799 to ensure a seat is reserved.
